Bridging the Digital Divide: How DAMET Empowers Adult Educators

As technology reshapes our world, adult education must evolve. The DAMET project (Digital Advancement and Micro-credentialing in Education for Teachers) was born from a critical need to equip educators with the skills necessary to navigate this new landscape.

A Need for Specialised Training

Many adult teachers recognise the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital tools to create engaging learning opportunities, yet they often lack the specific training to integrate these technologies effectively. Furthermore, there is a lack of formal recognition for the smaller, specialized units of learning that are vital in a fast-moving job market.

The DAMET Solution

To solve these challenges, the project focuses on three key results:

  • Digital Competency Development Platform: A comprehensive online hub that hosts all project resources. It provides a user-friendly interface for educators to access training, track their progress, and earn certifications.
  • E-learning Programme on AI Tools: A tailored educational programme consisting of modules focused on practical AI tools—such as ChatGPT, Zoom AI, and Canva—and the ethical considerations of using AI in the classroom.
  • Micro-credential Framework for Digital Competences: An innovative system designed to recognise and certify the specific digital skills educators acquire. This framework provides formal validation of professional development, making educators more competitive in the modern job market.

Our mission is strengthened by the diverse expertise of six organisations from Slovenia, Lithuania, Italy, France, Greece, and Spain. By combining knowledge in adult education, digital innovation, and social inclusion, we are creating a “knowledge community” that prepares educators to thrive in an AI-driven future.

The journey toward digital excellence is a collaborative one. We invite you to stay informed about our progress as we roll out these tools to the European teaching community.
